Stir Fried Vegetables with UmamiBee Dish Lifter

When the fridge is full of vegetables but time is short, this is the recipe I reach for. UmamiBee Dish Lifter, previously called Trio Ginisa, brings slow roasted garlic, onion and tomato flavour to the pan in minutes. It works with Filipino dishes and just as happily with any vegetable stir fry you already love.

Why this recipe works

High heat keeps the vegetables bright and lightly crisp. A small spoonful of Dish Lifter coats every piece with savoury depth, so you do not need a long list of sauces.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons neutral oil 1 small onion, sliced (100 g) 2 cloves garlic, sliced (10 g) 1 carrot, thinly sliced (100 g) 1 red capsicum, sliced (150 g) 2 cups broccoli florets (180 g) 1 cup snow peas or green beans (100 g) 1 tablespoon UmamiBee Dish Lifter Original 2 tablespoons water Black pepper, to taste Cooked rice or noodles, to serve

Method

1. Heat a wok or large frying pan until hot. Add the oil. 2. Stir fry onion, garlic and carrot for 2 minutes. 3. Add capsicum, broccoli and snow peas. Toss for 3 to 4 minutes, keeping the vegetables lively and crisp. 4. Stir in Dish Lifter and water. Toss for 1 minute until glossy and fragrant. 5. Finish with black pepper and serve with rice or noodles.

Helpful notes

Use whatever vegetables need eating: cabbage, mushrooms, zucchini, bok choy or leftover roast vegetables. Add tofu, prawns, chicken or beef if you like. For a vegan meal, keep the recipe as written and check the label of any added protein.

Storage and food safety

Cool leftovers quickly, refrigerate in a covered container and use within 3 days. Reheat until steaming hot. Keep raw meat separate and use a clean utensil for the jar.
